“I just returned from a 4 night stay that was a real pleasure. It was my first time traveling with an electric wheelchair and I was nervous about whether everything would be manageable. Unit 1 is wheelchair accessible without looking out of place with other units. Brick approach to entrance fits decor and doesn't look like an obvious wheelchair ramp. I loved the color scheme and mid-century vibe. Main room has enough space to maneuver, helped by a pocket door leading to the bathroom. Bathroom has both a standard bathtub/combo at one end as well as a barrier free/roll in shower at the other end of room. Shower seat is provided though I ended up using my own shower chair. Best accessibility feature is the friendly, helpful staff who went out of their way to be hospitable and make my stay work. Would gladly return!”

“My fiance and I stayed at the remodeled Bailey Island Motel during Memorial Day weekend. The island was just beginning to "buzz" so we were able to enjoy the calm and soak in the sights. Mindy and Jeff were excellent hosts and it is clear that they thought about every single aspect of this remodel; from the outdoor furniture to the shower curtains not a spot was missed. The air conditioning was perfect for cooling the day and we left the windows open at night for the ocean breeze. With a remodel, comes a renewed aesthetic making this 90's girl swoon giving "The Jetsons" meets Drive-In Theater vibes. Theres ample grilling space and so many tables for outside eating. The road the motel is on is very walkable and its a short morning coffee walk to the beach and light stroll to the general store. Be sure to check out the on-site shop too, there are lots of treasures you wont find anywhere else. Do Not Pass This Place Up!”

“This motel was very clean and bright and newly renovated in a mid-century modern style. Does not have the view of the former location but beautiful views abound all over the island. We did not use the pool but it looked very inviting and there is a spacious deck with tables and grills. We will definitely return when we need our Bailey Island fix.”

“My husband and our 3 month old son travelled to Bailey Island for a weekend getaway. We arrived later in the evening but had contactless check in and everything was ready and waiting for us. The room was clean the motel quiet the only thing my husband wished they had was an outdoor soda machine. We sat outside in the morning to enjoy our coffee and relax, everyone we met was so friendly. I know motels can have a bad reputation but this one was very pleasant! If we ever make our way back to the island we will stay here again! Highly recommend!”

“We visited Bailey Island for our son's wedding and several of us stayed at the motel. We all found it clean, nicely decorated, filled with some extra amenities that you don't ordinarily find in a motel, and plenty of room on the grounds to dine outside, watch the turkeys in the back or just hang out in the comfy chairs by the grills. A short walk away was a gorgeous bay for swimming or rock skipping. It was fun to watch the tides create or remove the landscape depending on when you visited. The staff was friendly, accommodating and eager to help (Rachael was awesome) with answers to any questions we had. Despite the stress of wedding prep I always felt relaxed at the end of the day knowing I was heading back to this little oasis for some quiet relaxation. I would definitely recommend this place to my friends and family. And no doubt we will be back. Thanks Mindy!!”

“Spent a weekend in a King mini suite. This motel was recently bought and renovated. The pictures on the website are exact. Super cute with new furnishings! The room has mini fridge, microwave, cable tv and coffee maker. There were k-cups provided, and bottles of water. The bed and linens were very nice. Comfy couch and chair in the living area. We had contact-free check in too. The shower had plenty of hot water, and has great water pressure…a pet peeve of mine is lousy water pressure and not enough hot water. The location is amazing. Unfortunately we were socked in with heavy sea fog, Mother Nature didn’t cooperate so we didn’t get to see the gorgeous sunsets that this spot is famous for. We love this area and this was our first stay at this motel. It certainly won’t be our last. The only thing that I wish they had is a lower mirror somewhere in the room. The medicine cabinet mirror is wicked high and I could only see from the bridge of my nose up. I’m 5’3’’and went out to our vehicle to use the visor mirror, lol! Definitely not a deal breaker.”

“Our friends and family have stayed at this wonderful hotel on Bailey Island in August 2022 and most recently this past weekend in October 2022. Both times, they have had excellent experiences! The hosts are friendly and very responsive addressing any issues or concerns which is very much appreciated. The decor is fabulous and the beds are very comfortable. All the extra touches (such as complimentary water bottles, coffee, refrigerator and microwaves in each room) make a big difference. We always plan to host our family and friends at the Bailey Island Motel!”

“I got married on Bailey Island and worked with Mindy to get room blocks for my guests. Not only was Mindy a delight to work with, but our guests loved staying at The Bailey Island Motel. The motel was just remodeled in 2022 and our guests were happy that all of their rooms had a sitting area and kitchenette with new and updated furniture. The Motel is in an excellent location that is walkable to everything the island has to offer: public beach, multiple restaurants, and scenic overlooks.”

At the end of the road there is a great gift shop two floors. Cook’s Lobster and Ale House is not far, within walking distance. Nice pool and lounge area at this Motel.”

The motel was clean and quiet and the staff was always around or easy to contact on the phone. The bathroom are tiny but nice and the water pressure is good too. “My daughter wanted to visit Bowdoin College and I decided if we were traveling that far for a college visit, we may as well make the most of it. We stayed five nights and it was WONDERFUL. Staff was amazing, so pleasant and helpful. Beautiful fresh and updated room. Nice tub/shower. Comfy beds. Mini fridge, microwave and Keurig coffee maker in the room. Small table to sit to eat/drink OR work (we had some work to do, and the wifi connection was fine). But the best part... the Adirondack chairs outside each room!!! Wonderful to literally step outside your room each morning with a cup of coffee and just smell the ocean breeze. Some rooms have a small view of the inlet, but not all rooms, and I suppose the view could change if the lot across the street gets developed. Trail behind the motel leads to the road to Cedar Beach. Very walk-able even in flip-flops and carrying a tote. Also very walk-able to BIGS, USPS, Fish Net cafe, Mackerel Cove, and Library Hall. I personally walked all these myself. I think could also be walk-able to Giant's Stairs and Cribstone Bridge if you're prepared and used to walking, although I didn't do these walks myself (we had our car and I ran out of time!!!). I WILL return!!! Thank you, Bailey Island Motel, for a magnificent stay!”

“We had a quick trip come up to Bailey Island and needed an overnight stay. Found the Motel online and a quick call took care of all our needs. Found this place to be a pleasant surprise. Rooms are recently renovated. New carpeting, paint, and furnishings. Bathroom is very clean. Staff is courteous. They have "contactless" check in and check out, which made it very easy to come and go. We wouldn't hesitate to return again and again to this reasonably priced and welcoming motel.”
